Led by U.S. exports of copper, dairy products, fuel oil & soybeans, America's trade surplus with Holland jumped 34% to $13.8 billion in 2006.

With a population of 16.6 million, the Netherlands exported US$17.3 billion worth of merchandise to the United States in 2006, up 16.7% from 2005 and up 76% in 4 years.

Dutch imports from the U.S. rose 17.4% to $31.1 billion in 2006, up 70% since 2002.

In terms of the merchandise flow between the two countries, America’s trade surplus with the Netherlands was a healthy $13.8 billion in 2006, up 62.5% from 2002. The U.S. trade surplus with the Netherlands increased 18.3% in 2006 – a big improvement from the 2% surplus decrease in 2005 from the year earlier.
